The Problem with Fiction Friday

Friday is fiction day. It’s a gift. To myself.

You made it through one more week. Bury yourself in fiction.

This is in line with one of my 2017 things: read more fiction than non-fiction. I’m failing, by the way. I’m knee deep in all sorts of non-fiction and not so knee deep in all sorts of fiction.

And so, there is fiction Friday.

I love fiction Friday. I can fall headlong into a story and get lost.

The problem with fiction Friday is that I’m working toward consistency in when I go to sleep and when I get up. I get up around 5:30am. On the weekends I tend to sleep 12 hours. I’d feel solid about getting up at seven but that would require going to bed at seven.

A 7pm bedtime will never happen on fiction Friday. Ever.

I’m much more likely to stay up past my bedtime and fall into an exhausted, happy sleep around midnight.

So much for sleep habit consistency.
